Shrink Wrap for Encapsulation?

Encapsulations

Activities such as construction projects require that some machinery and even unfinished buildings be covered to ensure the public’s safety or to prevent harsh weather conditions. The damage which may be caused by adverse weather effects may incur losses which would significantly derail a project. All this can be prevented by use of a shrink wrap which is both secure and weatherproof.

What is Encapsulation?

Encapsulation involves covering the entire scaffolding structure with shrink wrap sheeting and then applying heat to produce the “drum-tight” effect around the entire item. Since shrink wrap conforms to the item, it will wrap itself tightly around it thus preventing water or contamination from coming into contact with the internal structure. This will also provide favourable working conditions for the duration of working hours because the environment will remain dry and wind will be absent.

How efficient is encapsulation?

This method allows one to create a layer of protection on the covered object and also on the scaffolding structure. There is no need for taping the joints as there are no gaps in the layer showing how effective and efficient this method is. Encapsulation enables the covering to remain for as long as you will require it and will experience no wearing and tearing as it is highly durable.

Benefits of encapsulation

Using this method, items can be transported from one place to another by road, rail and even by water. Shrink wrap can withstand high winds and even the harshest weather conditions for a very long period. In the case of transportation by sea, the ship may experience bad weather all-round, and the prevalence of salt in both the air and water may cause devastation to items being transported. Luckily, encapsulation locks out other substances from tampering with the items in question. Also, encapsulation allows protection of the items against damage caused by scratching or staining by the covering which is experienced when using something like a tarp. Encapsulation also helps avoid excess and wastage because the material will tighten hence less shrink wrap will be needed.

Does the nature of the item hinder encapsulation?

This method is very versatile, that is, it can even be done on awkwardly shaped items which would normally prove to be problematic to other forms of cover. This is advantageous in that, no matter how large or pointy an item may be, it can still be covered because of encapsulation. Encapsulation is highly cost-effective because of the use of a single continuous sheet instead of buying multiple sheets as is the case with other types of covering.

Setbacks

This method requires expertise lest the shrink wrap will not be properly installed leading to some problems in the near-future. It is advisable to hire an existing, trusted company to install the covering instead of diving into the task yourself. We highly encourage contractors and construction companies to adopt encapsulation as a method to safeguard their projects. Traditional methods such as scaffold sheeting are simple to use but are unlikely to stand the test of time. Encapsulation shrink wrapping, on the other hand, is guaranteed to cater to all your needs at no extra cost.

Get In Touch Today!

For a quotation we will need the most accurate dimensions of the scaffold as you can provide, preferably the scaffold design drawings, along with as much information on the works as possible, i.e. location, working hours, etc.

A face to face meeting to assess your project is beneficial for both parties. This will allow us to discuss your requirements and indeed ours in respect of what we need to make your scaffold both safe and ready for Shrink Wrap.
